Background and heritage
For thousands of years agriculture and nature have been going hand in hand. And there were numerous robust and diverse ecosystems present that created healthy and sustainable living conditions. These ecosystems, that provided the agricultural output, were long-lasting and in balance. However, although the systems were robust, they proved to be vulnerable under pressure. Mainly if the pressure comes from several angles at the same time.
First noticed in the 1960's, diverse measurements tore apart the principles underneath these ecosystems. Things like specialisation on arable farming or livestock, no cover crops, intensifying the harvest with (large) amounts of artificial fertilizers, monoculture and eradication of insects and fungi, all declined the healthy soil ecosystems. This led to poverty in soil biodiversity. Which, on its turn, led to an agriculture that was increasingly dependent on input from outside the farm itself. Restoring the soil's biodiversity is of the utmost importance and has to be the focal point of modern agriculture.
ECOstyle, present on this market since 1967, has always been developing products with natural processes in mind and with clear do’s and don’ts. ECOstyle has developed natural solutions to feed plants and help plants to be resilient in a most ecological manner. Micro-organisms are our loyal helpers in developing authentic solutions to modern day problems. We are convinced that restoring soils biodiversity will benefit not only the farmers who restore their soil, but also the consumers who get sound food from these growers.
Vision
We will support farmers, all over the world, with microbial solutions that benefits plant production and plant resistance, by restoring the soils rhizosphere biodiversity. Ensuring a good uptake of minerals by the plant, while increasing the plants resistance at the same time.
Mission statement
We work in close cooperation with professional farm supply companies. Supplying them with active authentic ingredients to help farmers regain their sound rhizosphere back. We share our knowledge of the microbiome and the natural fertilization in the rhizosphere, which, combined with their knowledge of the local crops and market, will boost healthy and sustainable crop production. The knowledge gained from this and from our cooperation with universities increases added value for the agricultural sector worldwide.
